Jimmies men's basketball ranked in top ten in nation

The Jimmies are ranked 10th in the nation right now, and playing very strong basketball.  The Jimmies are 16-4 and on a four game winning streak.

Lady Jims ranked 13th in nation

The Lady Jims are currently 17-3 and ranked first in their conference. The Jimmies have a 7-2 record dating back to December. In the latest NAIA Division II Women's Basketball Coaches' Top 25 Poll the Jimmies rank 13th.

JC men's wrestling performing well

The men's wrestling team participated in the Quality Hotel Open in Hastings, Neb. on Jan. 7th.  The Jimmies had four wrestlers who performed well in the tough tournament.  Sam Brown, Marlon Branson, Jaykob Miller, and Pat Nord were all able to find success in the tournament.

Jimmies baseball looking to continue their success

The Jamestown Jimmies Baseball Team has had a lot of success over the last ten years. They have combined for a record of 341-141 during that span including 10 consecutive appearances at the NAIA Regional or National Tournaments, as well as appearing in the World Series in 2004, and 2008.

    The Jimmie men started the track season in usual style with a couple of wins, although Coach Crawford expects big improvements in the coming meets.

    Taylor Brown has taken the track world by storm since her debut appearance for Jamestown College. Not only is she competition well, but has an undefeated record after the opening two events in Bemidji and Aberdeen respectively. Brown is a high jumper who also enjoys 4x400 relay.

    The death of Joe Paterno is very sad, and strangely quick. Paterno's story is sad because he didn't get to enjoy the fruits of his labor. Paterno never got to see life at Penn State in true retirement.

    Jarann Johnson is into his senior year of track and field at Jamestown College. It's been a bumpy ride but his unbeaten start to the 2012 year has raised eyebrows. I was lucky enough to spend some time with Jarann, Sports editor for the collegian and popular face around campus, and get some answers to his recent form.

  • Jimmie Women Brown and Hornung continue unbeaten starts

    It was another hugely impressive outing from Taylor Brown. The freshman high jumper cleared 5-1.75, equaling teammate Mallory Johannes but winning in the tie breaker. Madey Hornung also led the pack in the 800M, beating her previous run with a 2:23.33.

  • Johnson Roemmich and Johnson undefeated

    Trent Roemmich and Jarann Johnson once again led the jimmies with impressive victories in Aberdeen. Roemmichs' came in the 55M hurdle, clearing the field with a time of 7.94. The race was an impressive one for the Jimmie side who topped 1-2-3-4, with Scott Roemmich, J.

    This weeks games are managers against prime time perfromers.

    Last weekend I went 3-1 in the divisional round. I hope to go 2-0 in this weekend's games.

    The track and field season began this past weekend with the JC men and women heading to Bemidji for the super 8's.

  • Huntsman bows out, endorses Romney

    As of Monday Jan. 16th, Jon Huntsman has suspended his bid for the Republican Nomination for the presidency of the United States. Huntsman (the former Governor of Utah, and most recently the former Ambassador to China) declared in his speech that there needs to be an end of the "onslaught of negative and personal attacks" in his party.

  • Wrestling Falls

    The Jamestown College women's wrestling team competed at the national dual meet on January 8th. The Women's team fell in every match of the dual in Springfield, Illinois but showed good sign.

  • Etzold steps aside

    One of the best coaches in Jamestown College football history has retired. Bud Etzold was the head coach for the Jimmies for seven seasons. Etzold's first stint was from 1995-1999 (23-25) and his second stint was from 2008 to last fall (20-20).

  • Two to Go

    The Jamestown Jimmies are fighting an uphill battle with only two games left to play this season. The Jimmies must win both games to finish the season at .500 and salvage a rough season.
