DOT investigators: Delay worsened oil spill

BILLINGS, Mont. (AP) — Delays in Exxon Mobil Corp.'s response to a major pipeline break beneath Montana's Yellowstone River made the spill far worse than it otherwise would have been, federal regulators said. Department of Transportation investigators examining the spill said pipeline controllers in Houston could have reduced the volume of the 1,500-barrel spill by about two-thirds if they isolated the rupture as soon as problems emerged. The Jimmies defeated the South Dakota Mines and Tech Hardrockers (0-3) 17-14 in overtime on Saturday at Rollie Greeno Field. This was a must win for both squads as the Jimmies were looking to bounce back from a 31-0 loss to Wisconsin-Stout last weekend.

Jimmies women's soccer win their fifth out of sixth game

The Jimmie women rallied forward with a 5-0 thrashing over Mount Marty College Wednesday in Jamestown and improved their record to 5-4-1. The Jimmies have been on a tear as they have won five games of their last six games after starting the season 0-4-1.

Jimmies run well in Minot, N.D.

Both men and women competed in Minot, N.D., It was the first outing for the men this campaign. David Londe unsurprisingly led the Jimmies at the Wiley Wilson Memorial Meet cross country with a time of 28-minutes, 8-seconds placing him 15th out of the 37 competitiors in the field. Spencer Kamoni ran in second for the Jimmies, closely followed by a trio of freshmen in Kyle Nielsen, Connor Doppler and Joe Jensen.

Jimmies volleyball sweep Dickinson State

The Jamestown College volleyball team had some decent preparation time for this latest conquest. They faced up against Dickinson State on Tuesday evening in the hope of extending their impressive record. They did so in emphatic fashion, sweeping the Hawks 3-0 (25-19, 25-13, 25-17).
